About Scan to PDF
Turn photos of paper documents into a PDF. On a compatible mobile device, the file picker can offer the camera; you can also select existing document photos. This is a quick way to digitize receipts, signed forms or handwritten notes when you do not have a flatbed scanner nearby.
How to use Scan to PDF
- Open the camera or choose one or more document images.
- Choose the page orientation and margin size.
- Select Convert to PDF to save a PDF with one page per photo.
What to check
For readable scans, use even lighting, hold the camera parallel to the page and check each image before saving. A4 portrait and landscape options fit the images inside a standard page size. Photograph pages in the order you want them to appear, or reorder them afterwards with Organize PDF.
Limitations
This is image-to-PDF conversion, not OCR. Words in the photo will not become searchable or selectable, and camera availability depends on your device and browser.

Will the scanned PDF have searchable text?
No. Each photo is placed on a page as an image. Searchable text requires OCR, which is a separate capability.
How do I get the clearest scan?
Use bright, even light without shadows, fill the frame with the page, and keep the camera steady and parallel to the paper.
Can I scan several pages into one PDF?
Yes. Capture or select all the page photos in one session and each becomes a page of the same output document.
